Just a glimpse....

I am a mom of 2 boys...who make my life very adventurous and sometimes humorous! I am blessed to be married 10 years and I look forward to another 50! God has blessed me more than I had ever hoped for or imagined - take it from me, never put God in a box!

Pillow Talk

I glanced at Ethan at the dining room table, he was trying to hide what he was writing. I pretended not to notice what he was doing and went about setting the table. I had a inkling that he was doing something for me or Jason by his sheepish look. I figured I would not ask him and wait and see.

We called the boys to the table for dinner and Ethan was upstairs, he said he went to the bathroom but I have a feeling he was completing his secret mission, the one he began at the dining room table. I didn't question his motives for being upstairs and we enjoyed our grilled cheese and fruit salad.

Later that evening I had forgotten to see what Ethan was up to and Jason said, "have you been upstairs yet?" I had not so I went up to our bedroom to see what he was referring to. On our pillows were 3 sticky notes. One on Jason's pillow that said in bubble letters "I love dad" and then another note with bubble letters that said "And" that was placed between our two pillows and thirdly a note on my pillow that said "I love mom."

It was so sweet to see an act of love that was not coerced or requested. He did this all on his own. I am not sure where he learned to put notes on pillows but I think his future wife will find it to be a very endearing quality.

Happy Birthday Super Ryre!

For anyone who knows Andrew, they know he has quite the imagination. Lately he has been referring to himself as Ryan (which is his middle name) and Super Ryre which is derived from Ryan I believe. He is obsessed with superheroes and wanted a Superman birthday party. I made him a Superman Cake and he got more superheroes as gifts, probably the 343rd batman he has
received since his 3rd birthday! He was
looking forward to his birthday since Ethan's birthday because he knew his birthday was after Ethan's. I no longer have to answer the question, "How many days until my birthday? Is it soon?" This Saturday he has his first "friend" party, we are going to have a total of 7 five year olds in our house. This will be quite the adventure. We have lots of fun planned!

Maggie-licious

This is Maggie, she is our new puppy. I picked her up on Christmas eve and Jason's parent's puppy-sat till Christmas day. She is a great dog and has transitioned into our life quite easily. She is a Zuchon. She is a mix of the bichon frise and a shih tzu. She has hair, not fur, so she is hypo-allergenic. She only barks when she is playing. She sleeps through the night in her crate and doesn't cry when we put her in each night. She loves to cuddle and be near us. She is content to know that we are in the same room. Often in the afternoon, I will bring her crate into the office and she will lay in there quietly while I am working. As long as she can see me, she is happy. Every once in a while she will sleep on my lap while I work on the computer. We love her! (even Jason, the number one "I don't want a small dog" guy) I have a couple of blackmail pictures of Jason sleeping on the couch, cuddling Maggie!
